# Is the Tech Job Market Bad in 2026?

Data through June 2026.

Mixed. In our pool of US tech & professional postings, weekly volume holds
around 20,000-25,000 listings, but roughly 1 in 3 openings is Senior-or-above
and 20.9% of postings are recycled reposts.

## The verdict, by the numbers

- Median posted pay shift (last 4 weeks vs prior 4): -$1,000
- $200K+ share shift: +0.1 pts
- Remote share shift: +1.9 pts
- Contract share shift: -6 pts

## Demand at the top is rising

The share of postings priced at $200K+ moved from 10% in the
earliest week to 16.5% in the latest — high-pay roles are not
the part of the market that is shrinking.

## Recycled supply

20.9% of postings (42,783
listings) are the same title+company recycled three or more times. A meaningful
slice of what looks like 'new' demand is the same roles, re-listed.

## Honest framing

This pool is tech & professional, not the whole US economy, and collection
volume itself varied week to week (W15 and W20 were collection dips), so we
report shares, not absolute counts, when trend matters. If you did everything
right and still got silence, the listings are part of the problem — not you.
