Software Engineer III

Availity delivers revenue cycle and related business solutions for health care professionals who want to build healthy, thriving organizations. The Software Engineer III will be part of the Payer Spaces team, focusing on backend and frontend development while improving healthcare processes through software solutions. Responsibilities: Solving healthcare problems & improving processes; Developing features for Availity’s Eligibility & Qualifications: Leverages or knowledgeable of the following languages & frameworks: Java, Node.JS, Javascript, HTML/CSS/Bootstrap, SQL (Oracle & MySQL); Works with RESTful APIs and web services; Designs using micro-service architecture; Applies Object Oriented Design (OOD) principles; Understands database design principles & query language; Implements code-based unit tests; Leverages Git, Jenkins, Kubernetes/Openshift, Docker, or similar tools for delivery; Writes technical documentation; Gathers technical requirements; Writes code to maintain large-scale complex systems; Demonstrates development best practices; Follows Agile software development methodologies; Designs efficient and performant solutions; Manages maintainable levels of technical debt; Maintains composure and professionalism during high-pressure situations; Takes ownership of the problem; Brings a positive attitude to work every day; Exudes optimism; Appreciates a team environment; Motivates others; Leads through example; Supports & promotes fellow teammates; Flexible and embraces change; Exhibits creativity & desire to learn new things; Driven by goals & team/self-improvement; Exudes passion & drive in your work; Values organization and structure; Respects the need for organizational process; Views challenges & setbacks as opportunities; Empathetic, compassionate & patient towards others; Establishes & maintains effective working relationships; Maintains professionalism at all times; Practices good corporate citizenship; Demonstrated 4+ years of progressive work experience designing & developing solutions for business initiatives; Possesses a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent Required Skills: Java, Node.js, RESTful APIs, Micro-service architecture, JavaScript, SQL (Oracle & MySQL), Git, Jenkins, Docker, HTML/CSS/Bootstrap, Agile methodologies, Unit testing, Team environment, Problem ownership, Empathy, Passion
