Founding Software Engineer (AI Startup)

Cappo Search is partnering with an early-stage AI startup based in San Francisco, founded by operators from Uber and McKinsey. The company is building agentic AI systems to transform investment decisions and is seeking a Founding Software Engineer to own and ship features end-to-end while building across the stack. Responsibilities: Own and ship features end-to-end (0 → 1 and beyond); Build across the stack (frontend + backend); Work directly with founders on product and technical decisions; Help scale systems handling real-world, messy data; Operate in a fast-moving, execution-focused environment Qualifications: Strong programming ability (language agnostic, but able to ramp quickly); Proven experience shipping production systems or products; Comfortable owning problems with high autonomy and ambiguity; Experience in either: A fast-paced startup OR a high-performing team within a top tech company; Ability to move quickly and iterate without heavy process Required Skills: Programming ability, Experience shipping products, Building APIs, Python, TypeScript / Next.js, Postgres / Supabase, Startup experience, Data-heavy systems, AI-powered products, Side projects
