Cloud Automation Engineer

Dayforce is a global human capital management (HCM) company offering a unified solution database and continuous calculation engine. They are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Automation Engineer to design, build, and manage event-driven systems and cloud automation pipelines, focusing on scalability, reliability, and performance. Responsibilities: Design, deploy, and manage highly available and scalable event-driven architectures leveraging Kafka and related technologies; Lead the automation and optimization of infrastructure and application workflows across cloud platforms; Ensure operational stability and performance of event infrastructure including monitoring, alerting, and incident response; Collaborate with development, DevOps, and platform teams to define best practices around event messaging and cloud automation; Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines to support event services; Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, middleware, and application issues in production and non-production environments; Contribute to architecture decisions and documentation regarding event infrastructure strategy Qualifications: Must be a US citizen, permanent resident, green card holder of naturalized citizen; Ability to obtain US security clearance; 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or systems architecture roles; Strong expertise in Kafka (design, administration, monitoring, tuning); Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, especially Azure and AWS; Solid understanding of event streaming, messaging patterns, and real-time data pipelines; Proficient in scripting and automation using tools such as Terraform and Python; Familiarity with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps; Strong problem-solving and debugging skills with a focus on reliability and observability Required Skills: Kafka, Cloud platforms, Azure, AWS, Event streaming, Messaging patterns, Real-time data pipelines, Terraform, Python, CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Debugging
